230 Live Views 20 In Crowd WARP – Web Alliance of Radical Photographers is a Qatar based photographer group which aims to be a multi-racial home for SLR photography enthusiasts that hones mastery of individual craft through continuous share-learn cycle.

WARP was created by a group of high-spirited photographers on July 2009. Supported by fellow photographers who advocated their radical yet virtued artistry concept, WARP has evolved to 300 active members as of October 2010.

WARP goals to explore the beauty, mystery and adventures of Qatar whilst nurturing another home away from home. Since its conception, WARP has always been a family in Qatar borne from common artistic passion. Friendship that tries to express and not just to impress is their foundation for success. Although freedom of expression is encouraged among its members, WARP always ensures to express artistry with respect to local conservative culture of the Middle East.

Creative conceptualization and not gadgetry, is the most important artistic weapon of any WARP member. This is further enhanced by their commitment to the share-learn cycle. As part of maintaining its educational environment, WARP conducts regular free seminars, weekly tutorial sessions & get together, indoor/outdoor photo shoots and monthly photo contests. WARP’s noble activities are also not limited to its members. They are constantly supportive to charity photo coverage of NGO’s including other Filipino community events of Qatar.

Unlike any normal organization, WARP does not have a set of officers as they believe in equality of rank for all its members. They are called WARP - radical photographers who are WARPing out of the normals, WARPing out of the rules, and they define their own virtue of artistry.
